About Riverside Racing

To those who know Gary Gunn well, including his wife Nicola, opening Riverside Racing Parts was a logical progression, a combination of his professional career and life long interest in high performance.
To those who don't know Gary, imagine if you owned your first Formula 5000 at 24, established and operated US Import Centre, a business specialising in muscle cars and parts imported from all around the world. Somewhere amongst all of this, you also manage to fit in owning a top fuel dragster, a funny car, a variety of collectable muscle cars including Panteras, GT Falcons, a Bathurst Monaro and Boss Mustangs. Understandably, people came to know Gary for his diverse knowledge and his 'can do' attitude and call upon him for assistance with parts, services and vehicles for their own hobbies.

Aside from this aspect of his life, Gary has managed successful engineering and fabrication businesses and combined his technical skills and passion to construct a variety of race and performace cars, left to right hand drive conversions and more recently, reversing right hand drive conversions back to original specifications.

It seems only logical that you would start a business which specialises in services for high performance and racing vehicles and boats, and that's why today Gary and Nicola Gunn are the proud owners of Riverside Racing Parts. A unique business, which aims to provide the enthusiast with reasonably priced quality components and in-house maintenance and fabrication services

The idea behind Riverside Racing is best explained in Gary's own words:
"Traditional repair shops have their limitations when it comes to servicing genuine high performance and racing applications. Enthusiast's requirements are different; they often need custom fabrication, specialised components or maybe just the right advice. Riverside Racing Parts can assist because we work with different types of vehicles and have a broad network to draw upon both here and overseas. I carry a huge stock of racing parts and an even larger supply of components is only a phone call away."

Gary has imported over 300 cars and various boats, bikes, RVs, equipment and machinery from the US, Japan and Europe. Today he ships by both air and sea in both directions.
"People say the world is smaller than it has ever been. I think that's true, professional teams and enthusiasts often need components at short notice. I can have what they need here in a few days or a week, delivered to their door" says Gary.

As a measure of success, Riverside Racing Parts recently moved into a larger 465sq metre specialised facility with a well equipped workshop and fabrication area. The enthusiast can now access sevices normally provided by a professional race team, but at a much more reasonable price.

Some examples of our Workshop services are;

  • High quality MIG and TIG welding
  • Machining - Lathe, Mill, Surface Grinding
  • Sheet Metal Fabrication - Folding, cutting, Swaging
  • Lasar Cutting
  • Mandrel Bending of roll cages
  • Fabrication of Roll Cages, components or complete space frame cars

Gary encourages visitors to his workshop. At any time you might see a variety of projects from a V8 Supercar, a variety of sports sedans or even a specialised motor sport trailer under construction.
